ASICLAND Conflict Mineral Policy
Background
The Conflict Mineral Regulation was initiated with the aim of preventing funds from selling minerals mined in the conflict zone from flowing into armed groups in the country, and requires companies to report the use of the target minerals mined in the conflict zone (tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold).
Conflict Mineral Definition
• Natural resources mined through serious human rights abuses and exploitation, and whose profits are used for activities such as rebels
• Conflict zones: Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, Central African Republic, Congo, Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Brundee, Rwanda, Uganda
• Conflict Minerals: Tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold mined from conflict zones
ASICLAND policy
• All suppliers of goods to us shall not use minerals mined in the conflict zone, and shall submit a certificate of origin to prove this.
• If necessary, we may proceed with due diligence on our partners.
• In order to comply with dispute mineral regulations, ASICLAND establishes a purchase policy to ban the use of conflict minerals, requests the supply chain to ban the use of conflict minerals, and requires the supplier of the target minerals to submit CMRT and evidence of origin once a year.
• ASICLAND partners should make good faith efforts to identify all the names and locations of all smelters where conflict minerals in the supply chain were purchased.
