ASICLAND Strengthens Position in 'AI Semiconductor' Market with Major New Contracts
▶ Multiple new contracts signed for edge AI NPU and 12nm AI accelerator development
▶ Establishing a symbiotic model within the AI semiconductor ecosystem and continuously expanding business
[2024-05-13] ASICLAND is quickly securing its place in the market through contracts with numerous 'AI semiconductor' companies.
ASICLAND, a leading company in ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) design solutions, announced on the 13th that it has signed new contracts with several promising AI companies focusing on edge AI technology. Through these contracts, the company aims to solidify its technological leadership and strengthen its competitiveness in the market.
ASICLAND, which specializes in AI semiconductors and has a deep understanding of TSMC processes, has been focusing on the edge AI market, also known as on-device AI, as demand for high-performance AI semiconductors and edge AI increases. Consequently, it has signed separate contracts with three domestic AI technology companies. These contracts, totaling approximately 20 billion won, include the development of edge AI NPUs (Neural Processing Units) and the latest 12nm AI semiconductors.
These contracts are with:
- The first domestic company to develop edge AI NPUs
- An AI startup providing large language model (LLM) service solutions
- An AI NPU developer working on advanced versions of lightweight products
ASICLAND will provide turn-key services, covering the entire process from IP verification to design, packaging, and testing. The company aims to support the design and ASIC services for the development of 12nm AI accelerators and the advancement of lightweight versions of products. This contract is expected to diversify ASICLAND's development portfolio for AI edge devices and significantly increase sales as these products are likely to go into mass production.
Lee Jong-min, CEO of ASICLAND, stated, "ASICLAND has set a strategic goal to focus on developing edge AI semiconductors in line with the rapidly growing on-device AI market. We will continue to collaborate with promising AI companies to lead innovations in AI technology." He added, "We will strive to scale up through the commercialization of AI semiconductor development projects, develop new products for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and target new markets to become the leading beneficiary company in AI semiconductors."
